a few years back (2012ish) there was an E46 wagon with a complete M3 conversion for sale..... At a VW dealer in Chicago.
For $29k.
Why didn't I buy it?

if it was just a body conversion then it wouldn't be worth it. If it were the entire drive-train (and NOT SMG) then you should have gone for it!

I think it had an S52, and if it wasn't whoever bought it swapped one in (with a manual transmission!)

I know the E36 wagon existed as an non M but all the "M3 Touring" models you can find on the net are just clones right? There was no true E36 M3 Touring?
